It‘s time to play Main Street Mugs. If you think you know this month’s “Mug,” just email Mary through this site's contact form, phone us at 775-2425, or drop by Digital Documents at 771 S Keller St. The winner of a drawing among the correct entries will receive a LUNCH FOR TWO at Baker’s Stone bakery on Keller Street in beautiful downtown Republic. Just walk by and you can smell the goodness coming from Sheila’s ovens. And you may have noticed that Baker’s Stone products are being offered by other businesses in town. Now that’s what shopping local is all about.

We stumped you this time. We received a lot of guesses, but none of them were correct! Our mystery mug in June was none other than Gloria “Mae” Butler. Mae can often be seen in her maroon van. Husband Ben and Mae operate MB Imaging, a local scanning service. She’s also active in Prospectors Days and other community events, or you may recognize her from her days of employment at our local hospital. Anyway, the gift certificate for a Showhouse Pizza remains unclaimed.

Boy, did we get some responses to last month’s mug! Many correct, and just as many wild guesses. Dr. Hugh Maycumber was our handsome mystery man of the month. Dr. Hugh was a practicing veterinarian in the Tonasket area for many years, and “retired” in Republic. Though retired, Hugh is proud to be involved with the U.S. Armed Forces Legacy Project in Tonasket. If you haven’t taken the time to visit this ongoing project honoring our local veterans, both past & present, you should. The fortunate winners of lunch for two at Baker's Stone are Jana Bacon and Tyler Weyer ... come on down and collect your certificate!

No one guessed last month’s mug, but most will see the resemblance once we reveal March's photo to be that of Jill Heming, who manages the local Bank of America.

This month’s mug has been in the area for a long time. In fact, that just may be his RHS senior picture. Take a good long look. Come on, we don’t really change that much do we? OK, some of us do. But not this gentleman. He’s still very busy with local organizations and projects.
